SPRING TRESSES
(Growth Season) Just like nature and new flowers blooming, hair tends to follow with its Anagen Phase where new hairs begin grow. With spring also comes the harsh allergy season for some. More antihistamines are consumed which can have effects on the hair like: dryness, brittleness, itchiness, breakage, dullness, and lifeless. REMEDIES: Shampoo 7 to 10 days to prevent build-up of meds More moisture/hydration threapy, scalp therapy Intake more water to flush the body of toxins and replenish |
SUMMER TRESSES
(Growth Season) During this hot climate tresses receive more exposure to the suns harmful UV rays which can lead to more sweating causing dryness. Oxidation occurs which causes tresses to change color. And we tend to engage in more water activities equaling chlorine damage like breage and dullness. REMEDIES: Shampoo more frequently to remove salt deposits from sweating. Remove Chlorine immediately using a clarifying shampoo. Apply a leave-in conditioner with thermal and UV protection. |

TESTIMONY
It all began after a long stretch of hitting up the Dominican Salon to get the infamous $25 press and roller set. I thought my long, natural hair was tight and right! That stylist knew how to put the heat on and get my naturally springy curls straight and bouncy! Little did I know, with each pull of the paddle brush and the extra hot blow dryer, my tender hair was being damaged, pulled and abused. Before I knew it, my edges were getting lost in translation. My hair was breaking. That's when I remembered my girl Treva Dunn. I began to schedule monthly appointments to get my hair back to normal. It took less than a year of deep conditioning treatments and regular trims to get my hair healthy and shiny again. Danae Sparrow |
